1. How to turn on and off MacBook
You only need to hit the “Power” button to switch on your Mac. It Depends on the computer you own, there may be a power button somewhere. The majority of Mac models will start up in the same way.
You can easily wake up your laptop by pressing any key after raising the MacBook screen or by tapping the trackpad if it is inactive.
- MacBook’s having Touch ID Sensor
If you have a 2016 model or newer MacBook Air (2018 and newer), you’ll notice that your laptop lacks the traditional power button. Next to the Touch Bar, the power button is integrated within the Touch Id sensor.

2. How to Shut Down a Mac
Your Mac can be turned off in different ways depending on its current state, choosing “Shutdown” from the Apple icon in the top menu bar will allow you to shut down an operating Mac.

A pop-up screen will appear if you open every window that’s currently open after pressing the Shutdown button the next time your Mac boots up. Confirm your action and click on shutdown again.
All the apps on screen will finish one by one and at the end your Mac’s screen will be off. Now your Mac is now “Turned off”.
- Force Shut Off
Sometimes Mac will freeze and did not respond to any keyboard process or the Trackpad then at this state you have to use “Force Shut off Method” In this method you have to press and hold the physical Power button for some seconds.
Although this procedure did not harm your Mac, there is a chance that something could go wrong.
